"Nothing But Work" was one of Lark's artworks to represent the United States in the 1966 "Art Event of the Year," which makes it a very historical piece. The show was headlined by Picasso, and included over two hundred other international masters from around the world. Dali, Van Gogh, Georgia O'Keeffe, Matisse, Gauguin, Cezanne, Fernand Leger, Goya, Chagall, Mary Cassett, Toulouse-Lautrec, Manet, Edward Hopper and Andrew Wyeth were also among those who were represented. Charles White and Raymond Lark were the only two African American artists included.
